Paste your page text or a URL. Get your Answer Engine score (0-100) - how likely Google featured snippets and AI answers quote you - with an answer-box preview and 3 fixes.

How the AEO score works

Answer Engine Optimisation is about being quotable. Google's featured snippets and AI answers pull a direct answer - typically 40-60 words - from a page that clearly frames the question, answers it immediately, and proves it with structure.

We score five dimensions. Q&A Structure (30) checks for question headings (lines ending with “?”), H2/H3-like breaks, and FAQ patterns. Conciseness (25) measures average sentence length (ideal under 22 words), paragraph density, and whether the first 50 words already answer the focus question. Schema Readiness (20) looks for FAQ/HowTo cues and explicit Q&A pairs. Authority (15) counts lists, tables, stats and citations that make an answer citable. Readability (10) proxies Flesch via average word length.

This is a client-side heuristic - your real eligibility depends on crawlability, competition and intent match. Use the score to prioritise the cheapest high-impact edit, then re-paste and re-score in seconds. For a full site diagnosis, request our free visibility check.

FAQ - AEO Readiness

Do I need FAQ schema to win the answer box?

Not strictly, but it strongly helps. Schema is a machine-readable promise that says “these are Q&As you can quote.” Pages with FAQPage schema win and retain featured snippets more often.

How long should the direct answer be?

40-60 words is the sweet spot for most answer boxes. One paragraph, no fluff, colon-free. Put it directly under the question heading.

Can a long page still score 90+?

Yes - length does not hurt if structure is clean. A long page with clear Q&A blocks, short sentences and lists can out-score a thin page.
